Present Duties
The Motor Carrier Transportation Division is responsible for issuing operating authority to motor carriers, collecting highway use taxes, conducting motor carrier tax, IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreements) and IRP (International Registration Plan) audits, registering heavy vehicles, enforcing motor carrier safety regulations to protect Oregon motorists, and enforcing truck size and weight laws to protect Oregon’s highways, roads and bridges.
