Present Duties
The Motor Carrier Transportation Division is responsible for issuing operating authority to motor carriers; collecting highway use taxes; conducting motor carrier tax, International Fuel Tax Agreements and International Registration Plan audits; registering heavy vehicles; enforcing motor carrier safety regulations; and enforcing truck size and weight laws, all aimed at protecting motorists and Oregon’s highways, roads and bridges.
