Present Duties
The Office of Minority, Women and Emerging Small Business administers the state’s certification programs for disadvantaged businesses, minority- and women-owned businesses and emerging small businesses. Certification of these businesses assists them in obtaining access to contracting opportunities in the public and private sectors. The office also maintains an online directory of certified firms for use by the state, public jurisdictions, prime contractors, and private industries that may be seeking certified firms’ services.
