Duties and Responsibilities: The Community Services Division is composed of regional representatives and support staff in eight field and regional solution center offices who provide
technical and financial assistance to urban and rural communities. Representatives assist local governments in the implementation of the statewide land use planning program by providing technical assistance to local government planners and officials, the general public and interest groups.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Ocean and Coastal Services Division works with coastal cities, counties, and state and federal agencies to
administer Oregon’s federally approved Coastal Management Program, which emphasizes conservation of estuaries, shorelands, beaches, dunes and ocean resources. The division provides financial and planning assistance to local governments, implements a coastal hazards and assessment program, supports the Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council, maintains an online Oregon Coastal Atlas, and has authority under federal law to review federal programs and activities for consistency with Oregon’s federally approved coastal program
standards.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Planning
Services Division provides specialized technical assistance and policy consultation to the Department of Land Conservation and Development’s regional representatives serving local governments and citizens. The division includes the
Transportation and Growth Management Program and specialists dealing with urban development, farm and forest land protection, mineral and aggregate resources, economic development,
natural resource management and floodplain
management. The division also assists Measure 49 claimants and local jurisdictions in the development of Measure 49 authorizations.
