About Oregon books
The following *selected* books represent a wide range of Oregon writing styles and subject matter in both fiction and non-fiction form. The books are written by authors with strong ties to Oregon but the subject matter may or may not pertain to Oregon. While the styles and topics vary greatly, the books share a common characteristic in that their influence has extended beyond the borders of Oregon, helping to shape American cultural life.
Many of these are Google books complete scans of works that are in the public domain and can be read in their entirety. Others are Google books previews in which generous portions are available to read. Preference was given to those books for which at least previews were available.
